Trivia Tidbit
March is celebrated as Women’s History Month in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, to coincide with International Women’s Day. The first of which was observed on March 19th, 1911.
Observances for March include International Women’s Day on the 8th, St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th, World Poetry Day on the 21st, and Easter Sunday on the 31st.
Easter Sunday takes its English name from Eastermonað, the Anglo-Saxon month corresponding to April, in which Easter Sunday is often observed. The month was named after Eastre (also spelt Eostre), an Old English goddess of the dawn.
